Hi there
Back before lockdown I treated myself to an action cam
I've only used it once and I had major issues. It took almost 3 hours to upload a 20 second clip to facebook.
I can't work out if this is solely due to my rubbish upload speed (0.66 Mbps) or if there's a trick I'm missing.
If I upgrade my internet, how likely is this to solve the problem?
I contacted the manufacturers help site but had no reply.
I won't be using the camera if it takes that long to actually upload and share my videos!
Thanks for any guidance
Abi

It sounds like you are uploading higher resolution than need be, even 4K can have the bitrate reduced at rendering stage.
Uploading the original files by the sound of it so must be at least 500mb as your upspeed is similar to mine.
So the answer is basic editing and export at a more sensible 1080p and lower bitrate - your 20 second clip should be well under 100mb then

Think 4wd is correct.

How big was the file you were uploading?

I too have a poor internet connection and uploading even a 35Mb file can take 10 mins.

I know that some hosting companies actually throttle down the uploading speed for 'free' accounts. It may also be the time of day that you uploaded your file owing to the number of users online.

I use Faasoft Video Converter which does a good job at converting video to a format and size suitable for uploading to various different platforms, it maybe something as simple as that to overcome your problem. :)

It takes me about 4 days to upload a 10 minute video, so think yourself lucky!
