Long time lurker, first thread so be gentle
Im a total newbie, Ive just picked up lightroom3 after using the Canon supplied processor for what seems like an age. My PP usually only consists of a tweak to WB, contrast and maybe a little something to make the images more vibrant, the images are then exported as jpegs. Heres the issue Im converting the PP RAW files to jpeg, they are fine, a direct comparison with the RAW as youd expect, but, when I upload to, say, create a photobook or to order a large print all the vibrancy of the image is lost, the images becomes muted, dull. The clarity is still there, the images are sharp they are just dull. Last night I was creating a photobook in the website downloaded software, on one half of the screen were the images Id imported to the software, on the other half was the book I was creating, even though both the images were in the software the difference in the colours was totally evident....when I was dropping the images on to the book pages they instantly became dull. I initially thought it was down to poor calibration of my screen but seeing the 2 sets of images differentlyon the same screen surely suggests the problem is something else? This has happened on several occasions, its not unique to this particular website, Ive had this issue when ordering prints off Photobox and when ordering A1 size canvas prints of other sites and with some other photobook websites. My only direct comparison between images process in LR3 and in the Canon software has been with Photobox, I have used their service for images PPd in both, the LR3 PPd images were muted, the Canon ones were fine.
Is this an issue with my operating system (XP on PC) or the websites Im using or am I doing something wrong in LR3 in the export?
Any advice greatly received
Cheers
Marvin
