Hi all,

I have just downloaded the the Adobe Camera raw 4.3.1 update, as i have tried to open a raw file from a borrowed Nikon D7000, and CS3 says that it's not the right kind of document.

I have opened the zip file and the the camera raw.8bi file is there, where do i put this? I have tried just opening the file and it goes to cs3, but still get the same error message.

Sorry for being a pc moron :help:

I think that you're out of luck; CS3 and ACR 4.3.1 are quite old and won't support modern versions of RAW.

You'll probably have to convert to DNG first.

The version of the Camera Raw plugin you need for the D7000 is v6.3 or higher, and unfortunately that version is only compatible with Photoshop CS5 or CS6.

As has been mentioned, converting the D7000 RAW files to DNG files using the free Adobe DNG Converter program.

You can get all the details and links here. ;)

Thanks all,
I now have it sorted, got the latest version of dng.
It does convert quickly as well.

Your version of raw isn't the latest available for CS3 4.6 came out around late 2008, sadly thats not compatable with the d7000 which is much newer.
You can download free the adobe DNG converter that will convert your raw to dng then CS3 should be able to open them.
Edit. Too late you posted as I did

6.3 or 6.7 are only compatable with CS5, CS6 uses acr 7.0 or later
