No
On my D800e I have the rear wheel set to adjust ISO (Easy ISO) menu item number d8 in custom controls
On my D4s I don't have that option......has anyone else seen the same?? I have the latest firmware on both the D800e and the D4s

You can assign the record button to ISO and adjust by the command wheel.

Does that help?

No idea, but it would be useful.
I came across the record button option on another thread- it seemed strange which is why I remembered it.

Right or wrong what I like to do is say;
Set Aperture priority to say f8
and use the rear wheel to change ISO to a given number to keep the shutter at a number I am happy with.

Example
Big bird sitting in a tree, adjust ISO to say keep the shutter at around 1/600 (600mm lens).....bird starts to fly crank up ISO so that the shutter is up around ~1500 to 2000
I used this technique in Tanzania and it worked very well for me :)

If I remember the ISO button has been moved on the D5 to where the mode button is currently on the D4s

Is that not possible with the auto setting for ISO? - I think you can specify the lowest shutter speed and let the camera do the work.

yes and no
If your want to keep f8 and say 1/600 for sitting birds if the bird takes off into similar light you will only have 1/600....see what I mean which isn't enough to catch the BIF

You could set the auto ISO to minimum shutter speed to 1/1500 but then you have to deal with higher noise where really you could have made the shot at a lower ISO

No easy ISO on the newer/higher end bodies (D810/4/4s) and probably not on the D5 I would guess (replaced w/ easy EC which I'd rather have).
And no way to accomplish what you want that I can think of.

I don't shoot Nikon, but is it not possible to shoot in manual with auto iso set to on, with a minimum shutter speed of 1/600 then have the front control wheel set to control the aperture and the rear wheel set to control shutter speed? This would allow you to adjust your shutter speed as you want.

I thought there was an option to set auto ISO in aperture priority. (I'll have a look)
So, set your desired aperture, auto ISO and specify the minimum shutter speed...

But if you're shooting in manual with auto iso on, if you need a higher shutter speed than 1/600 you can dial that in quickly, the aperture remains ar f8, but the iso will change.

Exactly how I do it on the D750 and press the EC button if needed, everything is at your thumb/finger reach. In good weather I set ISO to 1600 max and 6400 in current winter condition. Would have thought it would be the same on other models?

Exactly what I do. (y)

Thumb wheel quickly scroll for speed & front/finger wheel for adjusting F#. Also you can press the EV button & adjust quickly if needed.
