Hi everyone!

I am off on Sunday to the Isle of Lewis for the first time.
We will be visiting most of the surrounding areas and will be staying in the village of Back.
As a beginner what places would be good for me to visit for landscape and local wildlife.
I don't have a large kit just my canon 550d kit lens, a Tamron 70-200 and my nifty 50
So I know I will be limited but up to try anything :)

The Callinish standing stones are popular, any of the beaches on the Atlantic side of the islands can be spectacular this time of year beit with sunshine and crystal clear water or violent storm rolling in. If you venture as far south as Barra Traigh Mhor beach is lovely with the added intrest of the occasional plane landing and castlebay South Uist also worth a visit.

As a fellow novice a tip I recently picked up was to have a poke round the local postcard shops/little art galleries for an idea of the local highlights and work from there.

Hope you have a great trip.

Thank you,

I have just added this to my list. Like the idea of looking at postcards and right now searching google for images to see what I can find for an idea.
