I have recently downloaded a paid for Video editing program called Magix Fascut. After using it a couple of times the "export video" part of the program has stopped working. I have been on to the program support team and they have sent me this e-mail. Not being computer savvy I am wondering if this could give someone access to personal details such as password and account details etc. stored on my device. Should I be worried???

Dear Mr. ?

Thank you for your message.

I would like to suggest that we run a system check on your computer which will hopefully help us to pinpoint where the problem lies.

As such, please use the following URL to download, install, and execute a program called Syscheck.

<http://support.magix.net/syscheck/syscheck.php?tn=2016050610010484&fb=0040>

Before you run the syscheck program, please make sure all other programs are closed, including any Magix programs.

Syscheck exclusively uses Windows components for testing. Nevertheless, errors can occur on a defective system. However, if Syscheck crashes due to errors, this is not a problem, and if it hangs at a particular stage, please power the computer down by pressing and holding the start button for 4 seconds. Then after 20 seconds power up again, and on the next run, Syscheck will ask you whether the test shall be repeated--answer with "No".

For space and security reasons,the syscheck data is in a packed format. If you are interested in the contents of the Syscheck, you're welcome to have a unpacked copy sent to you.

When you run the program it will guide you through the check.

PLEASE NOTE: Once it has finished scanning your system it will come up with a email template which asks you to describe your problem. Once complete, press send and we will be sent the results. (Please don't forget to provide your correct e-mail address and name). Sometimes however, this automatic send can be blocked by your computer. In this case, please save the file and send it as an attachment.

I trust that we can get to the root of the problem soon.

Nothing is guaranteed, however they are a huge software company and there is plenty on the Internet about them.
Many companies use similar means of collecting information on you computer setup/software etc to enable a check for conflicts etc ... my gut feeling is that it would be fine.

For a bit of extra safety I would navigate there from a google search of the Syscheck parent website.
