Is this monitor any good ??

IMO no!

It uses a TN panel.........the cheapest for general usage.

You would best look for one with an IPS screen.

But does it matter how good they are if they're more than twice what the OP wants to pay?

The OP asked if it would be ok/good for photo editing.......stating that it was a great price. I did not read that as that "he wants to pay......" or that was his budget.

Get yourself over to AV forum, there is a Dell U2412M plus sound bar being sold for £100 plus postage

Go to a shop and you will see that screens have different types of screen material. Such as matt, glossy, anti-glare etc.

I find that the glossy clear glass types look considerably more clear, sharp and natural than the others but suffer from glare if near a window.

What I am trying to say is I think what they use over the screen can ruin it and you have to look for yourself.

My experience in retail sales taught me that it's very likely to be the case.

When i was looking for a ips monitor the viewsonic striked the best balance between positive reviews and price. Its at least 5 years old now and i have no complaints.

Thanks for the advice, I am on the look out for a better monitor for editing with..as usual always a bill to pay before I get any new toys..
