Yes
My little Grandson spotted these and wondered what they were I'm guessing an Oak Apple as they always seemed to be a number of Oak Leaves near them. Am I right ? I have had a look online but am not 100% sure.

It reminds me of a Quince by colour and shape.......though size I am unsure about?

Though Oak Apple/Gall vary AFAIK in appearance, so location/proximity to the oak trees are a strong indicator that you are correct.

It certainly looks like one to me.

I would say these are about as wide as an Acorn but round , they did not seem to match the colours of Oak Apple that I have seen in photos so I wasn't quite sure.

Looks like a crab apple to me.

Oak apples are actually a gall caused by a wasp and do not have the apple characteristics shown in your pic.

Do they have a shrivelled brown bit at the opposite end to the stalk?

I've never seen a crab apple this small about 1 cm in diameter there was only the odd one here and there and always near the fallen Oak Leaves. In my experience crab apples tend to be in rather large groups, but that is only what I have observed in the past. As far as I remember there was no stalk ! I will have to bring one home on my next visit.

Cut it open. It doesn’t look like the oak ‘apple’ galls I’ve seen but … . Crab apples can be tiny or it’s one that’s not developed.
