Yes
My wife needs a new phone her old model SE is getting a bit flaky, locks up sometimes
She looking for a new iPhone mostly for WhatsApp pictures of our cats things like that
Would like something with a decent camera (for a phone anyway )
The latest model the 13 is out of our budget
She does want an iPhone specifically though as it works well with her iPad
We are a bit out of touch with phones, I’m still using my old iPhone SE as well

I have the 13 and very impressed. The 12 IIRC is very similar, so would think that's an excellent choice. I was pretty happy with my 11, so am guessing the 12 will be someone in-between,

I have the 12 and it's excellent, I've been using iphones since the 5 and this is the best so far, I assume that the 13 is a bit better still but the imaging from the 12 is first class and I cannot fault it.

Thanks Simon and Tim will go for the 12 then just wanted to make sure :)
She likes taking pictures but doesn’t use her DSLR anymore she prefers the easy click and share of the phone

Thread on here somewhere with pictures from phones, some of them will be from the 12

iphones dont change that much, an XR XS X. 11, they are all good phones and great used deals can be had now if you avoid buying from a liar

I’ve an Xr and very happy with it, tend to leave 2/3 upgrades of iPhone before I change as for the most part, subtle changes / enhancements from 1 year to the next, with occasional big improvements…

Think the 12 would be excellent and fairly future proof for a good few years…

Thanks everyone she’s going for the iPhone 12
It’s good to know that it will be future proof for a good while as well :)

Pete, I use an "iPhone 12 Pro Max" and all I can say is it's absolutely "Excellent" camera wise. As you probably know it has three cameras/lenses and optically the 26mm is the best but the other two are more than usable. I pretty much exclusively use an app called "ProCamera" on mine shooting in "Apple Pro Raw" format which is quite a bit better than the standard "Apple App" which certainly cannot be sneezed at. So in my opinion go ahead and get one you'll not be disappointed.

12 is good! I've still got an iPhone 10, but my grandma smashed her 10, so I got her a 12 and had to set it up for her - and had a quick play, and was very impressed!

Apple Store Online does refurbished phones so you can get a 12 Pro which I understand is not available new now, comes with a years Apple warranty. Also one of my contacts is expecting a new SE version to be announced this month.

Got an XR just over two-years ago, takes decent pictures though I think the 12 is better. Sure she’ll enjoy enjoy it.

I would much rather have China special every single time. Xiaomi will be far better device for much less money.
Yes do that and see how it works out: “She does want an iPhone specifically though as it works well with her iPad:lol:

New iPhone SE was announced this week - chip from iPhone 13, but uses iPhone SE form factor and pricing. It looks like a good buy to me.

good choice, I sold my XS and bought the 13, it is pretty nippy at everything it does.

Thanks for the help everyone we did look at the new SE after a lot of thought she decided to go for the iPhone 13 , it arrives today :)
Nice! Funnily enough I recevied a 13 Mini today from the network as an upgrade (even though I',m on the same price plan (sub 20 per month).. which is nice BUT I'm fine with my Xs, but wondering if I should yield to temptation..

the XS is still a very good phone, screen is excellent as it is Super amOled and it is a tad bigger than the mini if that makes a difference.
would have kept my XS if it wasn't for GAS like all of us on here :)

It's literlaly only phones and cars that don't do it for me; I'm still on my iPhone Xs (genuinely no issues with it) and my 2009 Dodge (although I would love a Ram 2500 or the Durango) but camera wise... I've got a shelf full!
