Is that even legal?

this thread was regarding whether it was legal for a man dressed in ladies clothes to enter a woman designated toilet..

FAIK there is no specific law against it but other laws involving breach of the peace, indecent/disorderly conduct could apply in extreme cases where the conduct of the individual justifiably warranted it.

Now a man couldn't, and probably still can't be prosecuted for being a, as the law defined it 'common prostitute'.
Under which law can one be prosecuted for the act of selling sex for money? As far as I was aware, that has never been illegal in the UK (although lots of other related laws that forbid things like soliciting, kerb-crawling, running a brothel etc. make it very difficult to practice legally).

I'm also curious to know how you know he/she was a transvestite , rather than a transgender or a very manly looking woman - did you lift up her skirt to check ? or follow her in to see if she was peeing standing up ?

It's not an offence to be a common prostitute. However just about everything else to do with that is illegal. So yes, soliciting, living off immoral earnings, more than 2 prostitues operating in a house (from memory), and if you are male and selling importuning, are all intended, to in a way design out prostitution. If you're buying then there's 'kerb crawlling'.

So if a lady and gentleman come to an 'arrangement, so long as it's not made in a public place, it doesn't pay the woman's bills, then it's not an offence.

In this persons case, it was importuning, ie male version of street walking.

Common sense, dress sense, cowboy walk, stubble and hairy knuckles......I just ye not..... and very large feet.....he/she may have been transgender but was a bloke.......and if that is what floats his boat....I say good on him

Has anyone ever toured France? Especially the more rural areas? Unisex loos are commonplace and no one bats an eyelid.

In this case .... As long as no one was offended then what's the problem? In my (extensive) experience of ladies loos, (comes with being a lady, I guess) the business of actually going to the loo is conducted behind closed doors, in which case I have no concerns for who is doing what in the next cubicle .... The only thing which is done is communal areas is hand washing. Not a problem as far as I'm concerned.

they should use the male toilet as they are male no matter what gets chopped off or put on.

There was a story about 10 odd years ago at a large international company where a pre-op transsexual wanted to use the ladies loos, the ladies were understandably concerned and uncomfortable about that arrangement so the company decided he should use the disabled toilets until a long term solution could be reached.

The guy then went to the national press and kicked up a stink about it and the press were camped outside the offices involved. A few month later he was invited to leave the company due to an unrelated incident.
