Yes
I would like to know if its possible to setup a camera in one place, and for it to automagically take a photo once every minute, all day long (or at least for about 9-10 hours).

I have a Canon 40D, so it would be nice to know if its possible to do it with that.

Thanks.

:)

Yes, but not always with just the body. Some bodies have this function, others dont.
If yours doesnt, you can get a timer remote cheap (£20 ish) off ebay that you can set to take picturers at set intervals, just remember your batteries may not last as long as you hope, so you may need an external power source.

Canon do a remote that will do this - the TC-80N3, though it is a lot more expensive than the ones that Tom mentioned (and probably no better)

It's called time lapse photography, and yes you can do it with a 40D.

You'd need to tether it to a laptop and then use the EOS Utility to control the camera.

Yes, it's called time lapse. :) Have a google.

The two methods are as above.

Don't think the 40D does this.

Like Tom said, you'll need a fully charged battery grip (2 batteries) at the very least to keep the camera going that long.
