I want to use about 300 images recorded in sequence to make an animation but they all have slight differences in exposure. Is there a way of automatically adjusting these images as a batch in CS4.

Not come across anything like that. I guess the problem is that the software won't know if an image is underexposed, or if it is just being presented with a low-key shot.

If the exposure needed adjusting by a similar amount for each image, you could record an action to process them all. I get the impression from your post that this is not want you want to do though.

Not much help, I'm afraid, but if it is possible, I am sure someone else will be along soon.

I seem to remember that Elements has an auto exposure filter that does the job. It’s not perfect but would better than nothing. Also CS4 is able to adjust the exposure on each image when you produce an HDR image, but it then won’t let me get at them as it wants to turn them into a single image.

If they are raw files you can open them with Bridge select them all and batch edit them.
Using auto.

Im sure you can adjust exposure in photoshop and CS4 and also lightroom.... i think i have seen the function

**edit** Is this wha you mean? or have i got it all wrong?

Not sure if this would work for your images but its worth a try.

Open the images in ACR, within Photoshop On the right hand control pane is a Auto/default option. Use the Auto switch to try and drive the images to a standard.
May not work if there is too much variation within the image.

Can't think of any easy way to automate the process.

Or you could make an action to auto levels, it won't be exact but should get them pretty close if they are close-ish to start with.
