Yes
Just been looking on Camerapricebuster and they have the 40D body only down as £599 before cashback?

Is this due to the launch of the 450D with the 12.5MP Sensor and are we likely to see a 40D MkII / 50D sometime soon, especially as the 450D is nearly as expensive!

Or is it just me

There was a website over here advertising them for $850 last week.

It looked just a bit too cheap to be legit.

It could be to do with the slow down in spending. Keep people buying the bodies and hopefully they will keep buying the accessories. The Nikon D300 is under £1000 now.

Nah there won't be a 40D MKII. The 50D will be at least 6 months away.

There's not really any need to upgrade the 40D at this stage, it's only 6/7 months old as it is and even though the 450D has just come out with similar features, the 40D is still better and definatly worth the extra cash.

The 450D won't stay at it's launch price for long, within 6 months there will be like £100 knocked off probably.

:bang: depressing...o well I think the 40D is great!

Yep, the 40Ds are selling like hotcakes at WEX apparently. They just can't seem to meet demand at the mo, presumably 'cos of the £100 cashback!

Did get mine a month after release, with it being about £100 below the RRP with 17-85 IS lens

Jessops are reasonably competitive at the moment, plus there is a £10 off code you can use, plus you can get 3% cashback through Quidco.

And there's me buying mine just a couple of weeks ago... b****r!

I think they were over priced as everything else is in the UK.

I bought my 40d with kit lens, 2gb etreme 3 cf card, a remote shutter relese and a cheap bag for £836 before they were even for sale in the UK from Osaka in Japan.

Snakeman is probably correct with the slow down in the markets they will want to move the gear off the shelves before its too old, and to get us to buy more stuff..
