Is it all black & white to you?

I would still class that as TV. I can't remember the last time I watched it live either, it's still TV and requires a tv license.
I'm not sure you do. licence is for live broadcasts apparently. A friend phoned them saying he only watches via iPlayer etc.. And will not be paying any more they said OK.

Strictly speaking, you are supposed to have a licence if you have a device capable of receiving live broadcasts whether or not you actually watch them.
But since not having a licence will shortly be decriminalised, they'll have too many non payers to chase

wrong - my phone and pc are both capable of receiving live broadcasts yet I am not required to buy a tv licence as I only watch non live content

Indeed, but if they chose to ask the the questions, it'd be down to you to prove you never watch or record live broadcasts.
Personally I couldn't care less.
It's time it was scrapped anyway.

Luckily the commission based licence inspectors only have the same rights to ask questions as any other random member of the public. I had an inspector call at my home a few years ago but I simply closed the door without comment, which is what most sites advise as they are trained to trick people into admitting liability as their livelihood depends on the number of "hits" they achieve.

It was certainly a "Style" when I was a lad
(I assume you mean trousers / jeans ?)
Indeed I do.

Back to B&W, I thought that the BBC are going to be allowed to charge for BBC I Player in a few years time, so you will have to pay to watch the BBC even if you do not have a licence?

Its says live broadcast as I said? If you're not watching it at the time of broadcast you do not need one.
No it doesn't say that.

People who avoid paying for a licence always have (what they think are) clever excuses. Just like drunk drivers, shoplifters and so on.

Does it not? Sounds that way to me. Watching and recording as they are being shown on TV. Does that not mean live and at the time of broadcast? I.e on demand you do not need a licence. How are you reading it then?

Press the blue button when viewing the guide, select HD and you get only hd channels on the guide.

Pressing the blue button when viewing the guide brings up the search option. Selecting the "HD" tab when viewing the guide shows the HD channels.
