Is Apple tech support open yet

Bought the wife an iPad4 yesterday, after setting it all up I noticed a small white dot on the main screen. Then another faint line in the shape of a circle appeared and then another to the right of that. After just downloading the manual for it I noticed their picture shows this as well and it is probably nothing to worry about, I assume it is just part of the OS then unless someone can advise me other wise. Thanks for any info.

those dots are to show you how many 'screen' tabs you have - swipe your finger across the homescreen and a new screen appears with more apps on

WTF!! do I know about iPads Tom? Pretty obvious if I knew I would not ask But thanks anyhow

swipe left to right and you get the search screen, swipe right to left and youll get a new screen if you've put apps there. if I remember rightly when you download new apps they skip the first screen.

Hehe, this made me laugh. Sorry OP not laughing at you but this is something my mum would do. She's in her 60's and I've just given her her first laptop and setup internet for her. The phone hasn't stopped ringing since.

At least you know now its normal.
