is 1/4-20 threads per inch screw

Am i right in thinking all camera tripod mounts are of the same thread size ? .

Two different sizes but generally the smaller 1/4" is used on cameras.

1/4 inch and 3/8 inch, but 99% 1/4 inch

And UNC rather than Whitworth, although for the relatively low loads in this application, Whitworth (usually easier to find) screws will do.

I'm making some gopro steady mounts ,bit of a pain not finding the screws in hardware stores locally ... Never mind .
