Totally irrelevant, but has anyone got any idea what your standard Gatso speed camera has in it? What sort of camera, lens, and does it operate in total auto mode? (Green square  )

No, there's a wee man inside operating it in full manual mode. It's amazing what you can get these Polish workers to do for £2/day :naughty:

They have imps inside ( my avatar is a picture of an imp I found in a Gatso when I in the West Midlands) with paints and little paintbrushes and a roll of cellohane to paint on. They use a pair of zoom binoculars and a stopwatch too.

Usually, the light inside the gatso is off and the imp is asleep, but if a car goes past too fast, a sensor turns the light on and the imp wakes up and paints a picture of the car. The imp times 0.7 of a second, ( on his stopwatch) turns the light on again so he can see his paints and he paints another picture. Obviously, he uses the binoculars to make sure he has the registration number correct. You can tell this is happening cos you can see the light going on and off through his little front room window.
I thought everyone knew that!

whatever camera they have in them the guy that was up my **** for a mile wasn't glad to see them.

They regularly sit on a stretch of road near to me , it's a 2 mile long road between 2 villages, no footpath, houses, schools, kitten farms or anything, used to be 40, now it's 30, as you round a bend there they sit in their van

It's a nice little earner for them, I was doing 30 and some guy was so close I couldn't see his bonnet in the mirror so 1/2 way down this lane I pulled over to let him past, he must have got up to 45 as he rounded the bend, then he saw the van

I'm evil I tell you :woot:
