Hi Guys,

I'm after some advice please.

Having just ordered a SB-600 for my Nikon i wish to start shooting off camera for some portrait work. I'm only looking for a basic set up for starters but don't want to end up with something that doesn't work or is slow etc.

I've come cross these 2 flash trigger options - are they any good or do better options exist at this price point :-

And umbrellas :-

Thanks in advance - guess i'll need a clamp as well....does it ever end ;)

Mike.

Have a look for Flash in the Pan's for sale thread :)

thank you Mr Towershot

Why do you need a trigger?

Your D90 has a commander mode that will fire and control remote flash guns, with full iTTL control. It's very good!

I'd say certainly TRY Nikon CLS before buying triggers. For some things its great and if you make it work for you the you have iTTL and/or the ability to remotely set flash power from the back of your camera - you won't get this from any Nikon compatible triggers on the market today.

If it doesn't work out for you (as it didn't for me), buy the triggers afterwards.

Pretty much its a good system for indoor use though.

You guys are total stars ! - you've just saved me £25.

Will read up on CLS tonight.

Thanks again - any advice on the clamps / umbrella ?.....guessing it's easy enough to attach to a tripod ?

For the other bits, talk to Flash in the Pan on here (or see his thread in the traders for sale section), he has everything you need to get going with and at reasonable prices too.

I've bought something off him and he's lightning fast - good fellow!
