Quick daft question. I'm looking at buying the IR filter that Ken has for sale - can anyone confirm if I would get some reasonable results with either my 30D or my second body - a canon D30 - and either my 50mm f1.8 or Sigma 24-70 f2.8 lenses? Don't want to prevent someone else getting a good deal on the filter if I don't have kit worth using it with, but it's something I'm intrigued by and interested to try out if I could!

Thank you!

The Cokin IR is OK, it's a lot less dense than a Hoya R72 so the exposure times aren't as long but you get more visible light in so the IR effects are not as strong. You can still get some decent results but they'll be different to those that a Hoya filter would produce.

The Canon lens will be fine, it's as simple as they come so there are no fancy coatings etc to get in the way. The Sigma I can't comment on.

Hi Witch I found this for you.....Link
I know the 50mm 1.8 will work as that's what I used mine for.
Not sure about the cokin being less dense than the r72 though.

Isn't the Cokin P007 rated as #89B?
Which makes it the same as a Hoya R72

Sounds good enough to me - money will be on its way shortly Ken! :)
