I ordered an iPhoto photobook a few weeks ago now, and it's just arrived. I really wasn't expecting a great deal as i've seen a number of Photobox one's and although they're cheap, it's quite limiting on what you can do.

The iPhoto book was really easy to put together and order, it just took 2 weeks to arrive! The printing quality isn't all that great, but then again Photobox has gone massively down(!) hill in the last year or so, and this book isn't all that bad at all. I'll definitely order from them again, and will try and get some pics up later :)

It came in at about £45(!) but is a hardback (+ paper cover) and is nearly 50 pages.

Anyway... i just thought i'd share that as i know a few people are often asking for recommendations on where to buy.

I've just done one with foto.com. Haven't received it yet as only ordered it today but they said it should tak eabout a week. It's hard cover A4 and I've got at the most 4 photos to a page and 26 pages and including p&p it's cost me £15.58. Shall let you know what the quality is like when it arrives if you want

Thanks for that, I just had a look at foto.com and they have a much better range and options than Photobox, I might explore that avenue for proof books.

If your looking at photo books I can recommend fotobook.co.uk

Have had 6 books from them now all top quality, hard back with gold lettering on the cover.

Most recent order was on Sunday evening, received an email today to say order was complete and ready for dispatch by royal mail and should take 1 to 2 days.

52 pages, Portrait Style hardback, natural linen cover = £40.99
Gold Lettering = £8.95
Total = £49.94

is it the same one you can order thru 'aperture'? i keep meaning to try it as it looks pretty easy to design it

No. The aperture versions are more customisable and printed at twice the resolution, IIRC.

Thanks for the comments Matt. I'm interested in the iPhoto one so your comments are appreciated.
I didn't realise there were so many other printers, so I suppose that makes the choice even harder :)

Are these books printed by the same company that Aperture will use. I know the books are different.
Dazzajl, have you used the book service with Aperture? Would you recommend?

Nope, not used it yet.

It's been on the to do list for more than a while now but I have seen a sample and I was pretty impressed with what you can get for the money.

That was a while back now so there may be better options but somehow, I'd have faith in apple to do this sort of thing well. They are about as image driven as a company can be. :)
