so my iPhone went missing on the beach this morning. I've reported it to the police for an incident number. I've informed my service provider. I've changed my email, Apple, FB passwords and one or two others. I have no banking apps on my phone (hooray) or Apple Pay set up. The last back up was May 2017 - not sure why but at least some of it is there. It is set to lost so when it is switched on, it will explain its status and put up a contact number. It was still set in airline mode and only using wi-fi: can't track it.
Now some honest soul may go and hand it in to the police station - a bag with phone and much more was handed in not long before we arrived. However, if it is AWOL and never coming home, I am pondering what to do next. My Sim was an EE - really good deal; had the number a long time...
Does anybody know if a number can be kept in these circumstances?
Will a service provider continue a contract in these circumstances?
Pondering what to do next; might go back to a very simple handset. Too stressful.
Thanks for looking.
