Being a newbie and having owned a range of cameras over the years I was hoping to see a section exclusively for pictures taken with smart phones. Just wondered if this might be possible in the future?

as to a dedicated forum section, i'd say its a highly unlikely scenario - frankly, if the photo is worth sharing in your opinion, we don't really care what camera it came from - put it in the appropriate section for it's genre (and maybe add a second post in the above thread as well, if you must...)
