This morning I took a slomo video of my dog running, problem I have is if I then try a simple edit on my mac , the slo mo is lost, and is shown at 'normal speed.
Tried a simple trim using final cut , VLC, in each instance the clip resorts to 'normal' speed.
The only method I found where the slo-mo is retained is if I trim the clip with quicktime, the problem is if I try and send the clip (iMessage) the slomo is lost, and reverts to normal speed when the recipient receives.

Also tried sending slomo clip to youtube, but again reverts to normal speed.

I must be doing something wrong, but darned if I know.

A friend posted his slow mo video onto facebook and it was normal speed. Must be his superfast broadband that he was using?

In final cut go to the Retime option and select the duration you want the clip to be. This should then give you the slo-mo you want. There may be a better way but I don't know of one

Thanks.
I think I've cracked it, when you take a slo-mo video with iPhone, the first and last couple of seconds of the clip are in 'normal' motion, therefore (I think) when you edit the clip , the editing programme is conned into thinking all the clip is at normal speed. On the iPhone when viewing the slo-mo clip, you can make all the clip slo-mo by moving the sliders at the top of the clip, consequently when you edit the clip on Mac, the slo-mo is retained.
