Now for my next dumb question

I recently qualified for an upgrade but am happy with my 4S so decided to go SIM only. I've gone with a different carrier (Virgin) so obtained a PAC code from O2. I've put the new SIM into the phone but I can't work out where to enter the PAC code. I thought I might have gotten a prompt when I switched the phone on but alas, not.

you dont, you give the PAC code to your new provider.

once your original provider has unlocked your iphone you normally just pop the new sim in and connect up to itunes to complete the network unlock.

Ok, was sure that I entered the code the last time. The phone isn't locked anyway as I originally purchased it direct from Apple.

if its already unlocked then you should be good to go.

if youre transferring your number just give the PAC to your new provider and they should get it switched in 24-48 hours normally :)

yes you just call your new contract provider and give them the PAC details they will then provide you with a time/date of when they will transfer the old number to your new phone contact I think 24/48 hours tho might be a bit tight I did mine from o2 to T-mob last year and it was 7 days.
