I know it's probably a bit late now, but I use Portfolio for iPad.
It's a great way of showing albums to clients as you can customise which albums are visible, handy if you shoot a variety of styles or genres. I turn off all albums apart from relevant ones when showing a client my previous work. It syncs with Dropbox which is great for easy uploading to the portfolio. Clients can also rate images and it's easy to use.
The main downside of the built in photos app is that I use my iPad for personal use and it has all of my personal photos on it. The portfolio app is self contained I can lock access to settings using a passcode and using guided access mode I can be confident that my clients aren't going to find themselves in my personal images, email or messages etc.
