Any tips on how to delete a lot of photos at once? Like a couple of thousand?

I'm trying to sort my Mum's iPad which is now full of photos - all I want to do is select a couple of the older years and delete everything. The best I can come up with from Google involves using the Moments to bulk select by day - better thank clicking each individually but still a pain with a couple of years to get through.

I've only got access to a PC rather than a Mac so that limits some of the software options I've seen mentioned, and simple connecting and browsing to the folders doesn't allow a delete.

Help! Am I stuck with selecting hundreds of moments, or is there a clever trick I'm missing?

Thanks

Hi Matt,

One solution would be to delete the iPad Library from the
Pictures ƒ. An other one is to click off the "sync all" in iTunes.
These work on my Mac… so good luck on your PC!

If you go the the photos view that has 'select' in the top right you should be able to select lots of images quickly by keeping your finger on the screen and dragging down. i think you will need to do this for each year.

Thanks, didn’t know this. It works in “All Photos” but I think your finger needs to start in a gap otherwise it just drags the photo.

I have a trick of my own. Rather than tap each image with my index finger.

I tap two images side by side with my index and middle finger. Instead of your two fingers looking like it's walking, it would look more like soldiers on training field, stepping through those old tyres on the ground. Sort of like this...

Index finger tap, middle finger tap, move hand forwards to next row/column (depending on which way you move)
Index finger tap, middle finger tap, move hand forwards
Repeat

Sometimes I use three fingers: Index, Middle, and Ring fingers, one after other, side by side...

Index tap, middle tap, ring tap, move hand forwards
Index tap, middle tap, ring tap, move hand forwards
Repeat

It may not be much, but it is a little quicker than the index finger tap an image, move the hand, tap next image, move hand, repeat.

Don't worry if you missed one or two, you can always delete then catch them later.
