I have an iPad 2 with a number of PDF books in but one in particular will not open.
for some reason when I click on it it looks as if it is going to open and then iBook closes and reverts back to the desktop.
All the other PDF books open up fine and in iTunes the one causing the problem has a tick by it to denote it should be installed.
Any ideas please. I have tried deleting it and re-installing the PDF but the same problem recurs
Thanks
Dave

Might be worth posting a link to the pdf (if it's free :) )so others could test it in thier ipad, so help find the fault.

Could be that the file got damaged during download, therefore it is a corrupted PDF file, and iBook is not able to open it correctly (hence the crash). The same PDF file on iTunes could also be the same corrupted copy. It is up to you if you want to try downloading the same PDF file again. Delete the one in iBooks, download it from the Internet again, if it opens okay, then delete the on on iTunes, then sync iPad, so the fresh download on iPad will be uploaded to iTunes.

However if the fresh download do not open okay. Then either the file itself on the Internet is damged or the file is complex that iBooks could not cope with it.

Well, that's just one idea, of course there could be many other reasons.

Have you tried opening the PDF file in Windows (or Mac or whatever hardware/software you use) to see if it opens okay or if it got problems opening. If problems opening somewhere else apart from iBooks, then it is the file. If opened okay, then maybe iBooks really could not read the file well.

Many thanks, Guys, the PDF file on my Windows PC opens OK.
I moved it to iTunes by dragging and dropping......is that the right way??
Previously it did open on my iPad but for some reason now it won't
I paid for the PDF so sorry cannot link
Thanks again for your help.
Will just have to read it on my PC if the problem cannot be solved
