Hi all.

I am pretty confused by the whole photo stream / icloud / iphoto thing.

I spent an hour or so yesterday sorting out my pictures in iphoto on OSX. Exporting all the photos i wanted to keep and deleting them in iphoto. I then noticed i had 2 areas in iphoto - icloud and library. So i then had to sort out the icloud stream.

Back onto my phone i noticed i still had all the photos on there to sort also...

So can anybody advise a simple solution to get my photos off my phone / icloud to lightroom and remove them without having to perform the same cleanup operation in multiple places?

Don't use iphoto. Import straight to Lightroom; you can also use Finder to view them, but best stick with LR.

P.S. iphoto is incompatible with pretty much everything non apple. Just avoid it. There is google drive / MS sky drive with apps and more storage, so no need for naked celeb sharing icloud.

OK, so avoiding iphoto, i have found the folder iphoto uses to hold the photostream and am setting up this as a watched folder in lightroom.

However, when i set up the watched folder, it will only move images from the watched folder to another specific folder - i cant seem to import to subfolders as in the lightroom import dialogue - is this not possible?

OK, iphoto catalog is really a single file that only iphoto and apple toys can read. Just avoid anything iphoto related and use Finder or Lightroom to move things around.
