Hi folks,
I am a full time mum to Oliver, 10 and Jodie, 4, married, have been taking pictures for around 33 years (blimey, first time I've actually worked that out!!) when my Dad bought me a camera all of my own. I inherited his kit (mainly Praktika from memory, everything manual) when I was 19 but it was stolen soon after, so my Mum bought me an slr for my next birthday, a Minolta x300. I did a little b/w d&p at art college.
I 'went digital' with a decent fuji in 2004 before my daughter was born (dslrs too pricey then!) but upgraded to my new dslr in March this year - I had not realised just how much I missed having an slr! I've been taking pictures almost every day since with renewed enthusiasm!
I love photographing children and nature, but look for photo-opps all the time, and my camera is always close at hand. I'd like to improve my technical knowledge to get the most from all the settings, and also get to grips with software as I am a complete novice. Ultimately I'd like to make a part time job out of it, fitting around school. One special goal I have is to become involved with an organisation called NILMDTS as I have been on the other side of the camera seven years ago when our first daughter was stillborn.
I look forward to sharing images here and getting some good tips
