Some of you may remember my topic on dropping my Tamron 17-50 and looking for a repairer, Fixation dont do Tamron so I went with Andy's recommendation of Intro2020

My first email was responded to within 15 minutes with all details.;

I sent the lens and two days later recieve the written quote to which i was pleased with so rang to confiorm and for the repair to go ahead (3rd April)

they estimate 10-14 days for repair, two weeks pass, hear nothing, ring up to be told they are waiting for parts from Japan (New rear barrel assembly) and it would be there in a few days, 7 days later Still not heard anything so I email, I get a reply saying still waiting parts from Tamron Europe (see where this is going :lol: ) and they would be in within a few days, now once I emailed back just pointing out what I was previously told they say they have never ordered parts from Japan, only Tamron Europe and would update me when they got parts and my lens was fixed (this was last week)

having heard nothing over the Bank holiday weekend (I didnt expect to) I emailed Tuesday gone, I recieved an email late tuesday saying he parts were in (where was my promised update???) and that the lens would be fixed and posted the following day :D

and true to there word, RM delviery for me yesterday (altough I missed it) I collected today, the lens has been fixed, tested and returned and I am more than happy with the repair, its now as good as new

Overall, the customer service could have been better, one email isn't asking alot just to say we are still waiting for parts or something, I understand that they may have a few repairs to get through but its nice being the customer knowing whats happening

the job estimates 10-14 days, It has taken them 35 days to fix.

Worth the wait - Yes
Would I use them again? - Yes

as a business, overall 7/10 with room for improvment on the updates/customer service

*This is based on my case only, not saying others will have problems and long waits

I to sent a lens in to Intro 2020 (Tamron 28-75mm) that had a 'soft spot' on one side of the frame.

Sent it in on the Monday, got it back on the Wednesday all re-calibrated :)

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but has anyone else had any experience with Intro 2020?

What kind of experience are you wanting to know about?

I've just sent my 17-50 to them for checking as I've noticed some purple/green fringing on some pictures. I'm wondering how long they normally take to check, fix and return a lens with this kind of problem as ideally I need the lens back by the end of the month.

If they cant get it back to me by the end of the month I'm going to have to buy an alternative lens which is something I'd rather not do at the moment.
