Probably already been answered but can't find any past threads about this.

I know with Data Co I can not use photos from Premiership or Championship matches on my website or on here.

I was however wandering what the rules are about using International games such as England matches as it doesn't state anything about this on Data Co website and I was told by another fellow pro photographer that we are allowed to use international photos on our websites. I know a number of photographers who have and I'm sure i have seen a few on here to.

Can someone please update me on this as I was photographing the Spain game on Saturday and might want to share some of my images without getting into trouble.

Thanks.

thanks Peter yeh Ive read that doesn't mention anything about Internationals.

Does anyone else know any information regarding using international football photos on your website. If you can please get back to me and let me know.

Thanks

This forum is for sharing photo so thats probably why no answers.. no pictures:) Should be in TALK SPORTS

However everyone should give the same answer in there.. England pics no different than prem league pics. the only thing you can do wiht them is sell to media... and a little known fact that a lot of people must NOT be unaware of.. your not even allowed to show tearsheets/news cuttings with prem/championship/league pictures on them

general rule of thumb... if you need a licence to shoot a game.. your probably not allowed to do what you want with the pics

sorry to be the bearer of bad news.. its a killer having lots of possibly decent pics and you cant show them to anyone :(

It's not something I'm at all interested in (shooting football) but did wonder if the European case over the use of foreign TV decoder boxes will have any impact on Dataco, mainly the part where the court has ruled that although there is no copyright in the matches themselves, there is copyright in the "branding" around the football - the Premier League graphics, music and highlights.

I understand is more than likely a mute point as the grounds themselves will try to stop you, but just thought it may have an interesting out come in the long run.
