I got my Sony A6000 in May 2017 as my first (real) camera. I've really taken to photography and it's had heavy, heavy use. So a few months ago the shutter failed, and with it still being under warranty I sent it off to John Lewis. It was an awful experience customer service wise, no updates and took nearly 6 weeks for it to be returned to me. Much to my horror, on it's return it wasn't working properly, it would freeze up and no buttons or dials responding to anything. I hit google like crazy, tried everything, battery out, battery in, format card numerous times, with lens, without lens, with card, without card etc etc and after a heated conversation with John Lewis they agreed to replace the camera with new. Anyway, between this conversation and me starting to box it back up and swearing a lot it just sprang into life and started working fine. This was 6 weeks ago and last week out of the blue it stopped responding again, every dial and button did nothing at all. Back on the phone to JL "ok we can still replace it, just pop it in the post and we'll be in touch"

So I get a phone call, expecting them to confirm a new camera was on the way to me, but oh no, of course not! "We have your camera and every thing is working fine"! Followed by me trying to stay calm but also pointing out that I'm not happy with them sending it back to Sony Service centre for another 6 weeks for something that's intermittent and will probably just have a software flash and be returned to me. All they kept repeating was that until they repeat the fault themselves they cannot do anything. So now I'm without a camera and looks like I'm going to be forced into an early upgrade that was planned for next spring/summer.

Rant over, just needed to vent sorry ;)
