Yes
Now christmas is out the way im looking at buying a home lighting setup, I dont really want to spend more than around £300 to start off with.

The two kits ive seen for the money seem to be the Interfit EX150 MKii 3 headed kit or the Lencarta Smartflash 200 2 headed kit.

Now my main question is whether the Lencarta is worth 50% more than the Interfit? Hopefully I can be convinced one way or another as currently sat on the fence.

I have got a wanted add up to as would prefer to save a few quid.

For the very best service and follow up, Lencarta is the best, The equipment is also very good indeed, as many reports on this site. You get what you pay for and rather than try to get it all in one go, by buying cheap, build it up gradually. Keep an eye on the classified for sale lists and Lencarta does come up sometimes, but once bought, people tend to hang on to Lencarta stuff. Good luck

One think to consider is fittings for modifiers the Interfits are not S Fit, so not much out there for them (very little I own a set and there is nothing I wanted), Lencarta on the other hand are S fit so will be many more options available.

Thanks for the replies so far.

The fitting im not so concerned with as have checked and can get an adapter for not much more than a tenner so would be able to use s-type modifiers.

I do prefer to be able to go to a shop and hand over the cash so easy to go back to rectify any problems which is one plus in favour of the Interfit but not a deal breaker.

The main thing that is swaying me is getting a third head for the money to light up the background if needed.

If the Lencartas are really that much better for the money I would just have to do with 2 heads for now but was hoping people might of used both and had chance to compare the actual hands on benefits.

Edit:

Cosmix3 - I just had a browse through you photos and very impressed, you said you own a interfit kit, was it used for any of them or do you use something else?

I got three Lencarta elite pro 300 heads to replace some lastolite heads at the start of October. They were fantastic until one went faulty on the 4th December. Returned it on the 5th and still waiting to hear about a repair or replacement! I know I'll be happy when it's returned but the aftercare is too slow when running a business. :(

Still wouldn't buy Interfit!

That unit has now been repaired and will be on its way back on Monday.
Problem was, the fault was intermittent and so hard to diagnose

I was in the same situation a few months back and after spending a long time searching the net I decided on the lencarta. A big reason for me was a lot of people said that I would outgrow the interfit equipment very quickly and end up spending more money on a better set.

I have used my kit a few times and love them! The fan is a massive bonus as I don't worry about them overheating.

Lencarta for me

Well ive settled on Lencarta, as its a little more expensive im gonna give it a couple weeks to see if anything pops up second hand as ideally id like 3 heads.

Just re-started the Lencarta vs Elemental thread with a question on the importance of modeling lamp power as Elemental have reduced the price of their basic kit from £379 to £299 to equal that of the Lencarta kit listed above. http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=456169

When you know what you are doing you can do some setups without the modelling lamps but when you are learning they are a real bonus. It is much easier to adjust light position when you can see what the light is doing in real time. If they were not useful you would have to ask why has all the top level kit got them included?

I've had both interfit and lencarta , I found the lencarta to be better, why? Concistancy in power output and colour temp! Basically that's what your paying for, I also liked the build quality of the lencarta and never went through half as many flash tubes as I did with the interfits
