I am thinking of getting some lighting what do you guys think of this for a start up set to get me going. It costs £199 so it isn't goint to break the bank. The two head kit

Thanks Wayne

I bought the 3 head kit last year and while I haven't used it much, I was impressed with the results. If you're just wanting to play around in the living room or a small studio then I think it's great. There was a write up/comparison in Practical Photography and I think it came out as the best buy. (I'll try to find the review)

Is it the package where you get the backdrop and umbrellas with it?

This was taken on my first attempt using them and I think (memory ain't too great) that they were set at less than 1/2 power.

I've been firing them using a flash head on the camera rather than the leads and not had any problems so far (once the good people on TP advised me to set the flash at 1/16th)

Like you say, it'll not break the bank and it gives you a reasonable bit of kit to play with until you decide you want to move to bigger things.

will check it out thanks Gary
It's the two head kit i was looking at without the backdrop. I need the extra money for the trigger loopy

I have got this kit and its not bad for starters, just set up a small studio with them in, here are 2 photos from a quick set up, still waiting for paint to dry.

How they come out of the camera.

Yeah I've got them too, plus an EXD200 and they're not bad at all, then got plenty of mileage on them now and I do occasionally want a tad more power but for the money they are a good buy.

I'm definitely more in the strobist camp though lately. I will reach for my SB900s (+ sb600) before the Interfits, purely because of convenience.

As soon as you go 'on location' you may regret investing solely in studio lighting.
