Hello Everyone,

Has anyone any idea what the Instax wide cameras 95mm focal length equates to on 35mm ?

Thanks all

Agreed. It's a very simple piece of mental arithmetic once you know the width of the Instax wide format (which I had to look up). It's all down to similar triangles...

The Instax wide format length is three times that of 35mm full frame*, so by similar triangles, the angle of view will be the same as that of a lens of 1/3 the focal length on the smaller format.

* Just to add a bit of confusing (and irrelevant :)) information: The original format on 35mm film was that used in the cinema, known on still cameras as half frame. However, in older terminology, "full frame" was used to refer to the full cinema frame, and 35mm still cameras were therefore called "double frame". This term occurs in Arthur Cox' Photographic Optics.
