instagram warning

For those who are wishing @realspeed could have had the decency to at least hint at what this is about....

There's been a security breach at Instagram. Millions of account details including email addresses and phone numbers are for sale. The article says:

"Instagram users should entertain the possibility the numbers and e-mail addresses associated with their accounts are now public."

There is no mention of passwords so it's not clear what, if anything, you should do about this.

I've read a few articles on this, no password information was compromised and less than 1% of Instagram users were affected with the hack targeted towards those with the most followers.
 
I recommend using the site https://haveibeenpwned.com/ It's run by a respected security expert who through a mix of keeping his ear to the ground and through contacts, he's able to catalog the email address caught up in the every increasing number of leaks. You can check your email address to see if you've been caught up in any historical breaches or sign up for future notice should your email address turn up in future leaks.

I'm not worried though, my bank acc is almost always in the minus
