instagram question

I thought instagram was just mobile phone pictures that went on it, but I keep seeing images from an a6300 or other cameras on there, how are normal camera files getting uploaded to instagram?

Theyre saved as a jpg, sent to flickr or dropbox or similar, downloaded onto a mobile phone and uploaded in the normal way.

first way that springs to mind is, process photo on computer. plug in phone via usb. copy photo to phone. upload to instagram.
