My Instagram has been hacked and I’m locked out as hacker has changed my email & password
Has This happened to anyone else and have you managed to get it back ?
I’ve tried contacting Insta directly but to no avail there customer support is rubbish so any help much appreciated

It is maybe a bit too late for that but do use two factor authentication wherever possible. This also applies to other accounts, and most certainly ones that just may incidentally use same or similar password
 
Know a wedding photographer that had his hacked. Took over 6 months to get back and that was just pure luck after he photographed a wedding for a couple and they both worked for Facebook and got it sorted for him.

I’ve been locked out of both Facebook and Instagram since good Friday. I’d allegedly posted an image that broke the community rules (I haven’t - I’ve either been hacked or maliciously reported after having a run in with a scammer). After taking a week to get past Facebooks own security check error I’ve had a review lodged with Facebook for over a week now. To be honest having read the experiences of others I don’t ever see me getting access back as Meta doesn’t seem to care about anyone who experiences issues. There doesn’t seem to be much human input into the support system as it’s mostly automated and any human help seems to be limited due to Covid (their excuse if the review isn’t undertaken (supposedly takes a day but it’s been 10 days now). Only way to contact them seems to be Facebook/instagram which is useless if you can’t log in!
 
Good luck getting your account back, Rob. I don't do fb but it took my wife 18 months to get hers back :(

fb's help(?) system is worse than useless.

Yes I received a pm inside my Insta asking for help & reposed as I thought I knew that person and then within seconds logged out and all my settings changed.
As others have posted IG / FB no help at all in This situation as all
Of the help systems only work if you are within IG & not logged out.
