I went for a walk into Bristol city centre last night!

The SS Great Brittain was in complete darkness,
The Millenium square was cordoned off,
The fountains & lights on the centre were not working/cordoned off,
even a walk along the docks felt pretty uninspiring!

I know I had a crap day at work, but is it me or does Bristol lack some night time illumination?

The Clifton suspension always looks good, as well as Cabot tower but is that it?

Is it a case of can't see the wood for the trees, or should I have gone home for a few beers instead?

Better still, any suggestions on what to photograph?

I would have recommended the 4 places that you listed lol

tbh I cant think of anywhere else GOOD for night time stuff. Some suggestions: Bristol Cathedral, museums/university buildings at top of Park Street, the new shopping centre building site at the end of the M32, Temple Meads, Castle Park (ooh, thats a good one, dont they light up the ruins at night?), the buildings on the way to Temple Meads by the evening post building, the bridge at the end of Baldwin Street, the old Gates to The City on Small Street,The Waterfront, that derelict building where all the homeless people hang out on Gloucester Road, The Arches on Glos Road. Also, heres a special challenge for you: As you go down Park Row towards Bond Street, just before the bus station and just after a pedestrian crossing there is a big Hospital building on the right hand side. Go in there, act as though you know where u are going and no one will ask questions, go to the lift, head for the top floor, and you will have a really good view of the city. Good views of the city from Dundry also.

Do you want any day time suggestions?

EDIT: Oh and huge lol at the lights and fountains on the centre not working, they never do.......good job it didnt cost much money :E
 
ooh, just read in the evening post that there is a fairground ride on Castle Park, behind the galleries. Its a tall, illuminated tower with suspended cars spinning around it and up and down it.
