Given the thread on here about http://1x.com/, I thought it might be nice to share a couple of my favourite inspiration-stirrers. Maybe you could add yours, if they're not here.

I noticed, many moons ago, that I can sit and thumb through still images all night, but I have no interest in watching any television. Just lastnight, I reran through this site:

http://www.archive.worldpressphoto.org/

and realised how powerful the printed image can be. [NOTE: many could be seen as NSFW, by the way - there's no nude or erotic stuff etc, but there is brutal, unflinching photojournalism - be warned, some images are horrific and utterly powerful.]

In a less provocative vein there's these:

http://www.bjp-online.com/
http://www.magnumphotos.com/
http://photography.nationalgeographic.co.uk/photography/?source=NavPhoHome
http://lightbox.time.com/

and if, like me, you're into photojournalism [I dislike boring, uninspiring images, even if they're technically perfect] then you'll find something to love in there.

Now, perhaps one of the fine-art lovers on TP could counter my websites with some amazing fine art and studio work? I'm open to anything that might help me raise my game!

Did World Press Photo blow you all away so much that you forgot to reply, or am I the only one on TP who finds inspiration from photojournalistic images?

Anyway, perhaps I can direct you to Alec Soth at
http://alecsoth.com/photography/projects/, or maybe over to the moody monochromes of Denis Olivier at http://www.denisolivier.com/ .

I'm keen to see just where you find your game-changers!

Well I usually use Flickr, but let me thank you for opening my eyes to other sources of inspiration :)

Hi Dan, Just been on the WorldPressPhoto site...no punches pulled there. Thanks for opening my eyes.
