Hi I wonder if anyone can help me? I'm looking for some new locations in and around Hampshire to photograph, ideally landscape with water involved but will consider all and any options.

I've shot down at Portland (Church Hope Cove if anyone's missed that place, lovely beach with pebbles of all sizes on, few beach huts and a rusting anchor and mangle! but a bit of a steep climb on the way back up), Mudeford, Boscombe, Calshot and am looking for some new places

Please feel free to post your images to show a location if there's somewhere you particularly recommend :)

Thanks in advance...

No not yet Andy - Where's that? What's there?

Ooo the lilly pads on Long pond (the next photo in his website) is a lovely photo too, best get the New Forest map out again

Just been looking through my website for ideas. I have this one from Kings Worthy just to the north of Winchester.

Near Beaulieu.

After going to the Hillier's exhibition I noticed that Ian Badley had a few really nice shots from around there.

Hatchett Pond makes a great sunset scene on the right day. If I find some pics I'll post them up. It's also worth going into Beaulieu village (for the river, which is tidal) and Buckler's Hard while you're in the area.

In the Forest - Ober Water (only 5 or 6 miles from Beaulieu) is nice - this was taken at Puttles Bridge on the Rhinefield Road near Brockenhurst.

Another place to try - Lymington around the Quayside and the Yacht Clubs (The Royal Lymington, and Lymington Town YCs are next to each other) with good views over to the Isle of Wight.

I proposed to my wife on that bridge!

Jeangenie, that's lovely, thanks for the heads up will defo put that on the list :)

Are any of these places in North Hampshire? Can anyone give ideas for Berks/north Hants/Thames Valley?

Itti, most of them are the New Forest so unfortunately not

Only place I know more up your way would be Basingstoke Canals and as they run for 30 ish miles I'm yet to find "the" Place!

Or just get on the boat and come over to the Isle of Wight. There are boats from Southampton and Portsmouth too.

Lots to point a camera at over here.

Fleet pond? And as it has been suggested, look alongside Basingstoke canal - there are quite a few nice areas to photo.

I did have a few photos of Fleet pond uploaded on my page (all with water in them taken at Fleet pond...)

Basingstoke's pretty nearby so I should be able to get a lift to the canal next time I'm home (am university student living in Manchester but it's actually easier to get to places when I'm at home over the holidays as my parents and sister drive but I don't so I need public-transport-accessible places when at uni!). Will check out Fleet pond too if I can. Thanks for the tips :)

P.S. You have some very nice photos there dalex :)

Do you have any recommendations on the island Steve? We were over last weekend walking along the coast path from Bonchurch to Niton and apart from some wispy water on rocks I struggled to find much in the way of inspiring views.

For just a day trip I would start with Newtown.

This website is worth a look for photographically illustrated walks and maps: http://www.wight-cam.co.uk/

Virginia Water? A good waterfall and some Roman Ruin's in the Windsor Great Park apparently but I have not seen them yet.

Holy thread revival I know, but you were more or less stood at the bottom of my garden to take some of those! (railway line aside that is).

You should have said and I'd have made you a cuppa! :D

tried the old viaduct that runs past j11 on the m3 near winchester ?

get of and j10 and head first left, park up and walk back towards it, there are loads of paths and car parks round there, you got a river, lots of grass and trees, and a viaduct. i think the via will hide the M3, if not jsut chop it out of the background.
