I have two grandchildren, I did have three but the eldest lad was killed in a motorcycle accident. As they lived in different parts of the country I don't have any photos of them all together, and plan to try and create one with the help of Elements 10. My question is, do I have to take a photo of the two and just leave a space in the middle, or would it be better to take a photo of both of them with, say, their dad in the middle and then try and insert a photo of the eldest in his place?
Thank you

I think only you can say what images you have of the oldest grandchild to know what you have to work with. I'd say start with the best picture you have, and that should give you an idea of how you want the scene to be composed. Then you could have someone take up the position and work around that.

Good luck. Sounds like a labour of love. I'd be interested to see how you get on.

As said It's not going to be easy.

Start with the shot of the one lad you want to use... Look at the lighting and try to recreate that for the one of the two.

Maybe set up the shot with a dummy :) in the third position, but I would also take one with an empty space.. Then all you have to do is fill the space. Rather than having to remove bits of someone first.

See how far you get and post if you need more help. :)

Ok , thanks everyone, I'll have to sort one out of my eldest grandson that would be suitable and then try and take two of the other two as you suggest and I will then take advantage of your kind offers of help.
It will be quite a while as we don't live in the same part of the country as they do (Cheshire) and I'm in the West Midlands.
Thank you all for your offers of help.
