Just been handed this loveky beauty from the 1950s. Its my first folding and my first rangefinder. Shoukd be fun. I have seen the results from this little folder already when sadly going through my inlaws stuff after their recently passing. As a camera enthusiast I was immediateky made new owner of this from the executors. Hoping to put a film through thissoon, along with my pther Medium Format bargain from the other day, a Yashicamat EM. View attachment 36574

Nice one.

A couple of little tips for you:

1. Open the camera before winding on the film. It helps keep the film flat.

2. Try to find a slip on yellow filter. It really helps with the contrast.

Here's a pic. taken with mine.

Hi Simon. Do you mean to say to open the camera after I have finished 12 shots then wind on with the camera back open?

Nice shot btw. Will look for a yellow filter on the bay....

No, sorry, I wasn't clear.

If you've taken a couple of shots, say, and closed the camera, open it up again before winding on for the next shot.

Does that make more sense?

Understood. I keep forgetting its not like 35mm film where to do that would be a disaster!

Hi Jeff,

Opening the camera back would potentially be a disaster! I'm pretty sure Simon was talking about opening the camera bellows and not wiwinding on when the lens is folded up!

No, don't open the back unless you've finished the roll. What Simon means is don't wind on to the next shot until after you've erected the bellows, the little bit of suction when when the bellows opens can move the film off the film plane and upsets the focus a little.
