Resistance or Enlightened.. anyone else come across this? Looks like some extra motivation to get out and about with a camera this summer.
 
No but it looks kind of interesting. Something like a cross between Foursquare and anything with a point perhaps? Or the logical extension to the Run with Zombies / The Walk apps.

But after nearly 10 mins I still can't figure out what it is :)
 
The best introduction I've found is the Field Guide, the closest I can describe it from what I've seen so far is a cross between digital geocaching and Reversi/Othello/Go with a bit of tower defence thrown in for good measure.
 
I'm level 8, Enlightened. Just about got to 8 as they released levels 9-16!

Apparently I've walked 118km playing it.
 
A couple of hours yesterday walking around town and I managed to get from a standing start to half-way to L4 and did a few km in the process (my knees felt it last night). It looks like there are a few players in town but they're all playing from town and to the east. To the west there's a nice big empty playground of land that's too rural to be worth many MUs but has plenty of villages with churches and war memorials which seem to be the easiest portals to predict. I just need a war chest of resonators.
 
I have to ask......are you guys even speaking in English? :lol:
 
Nothing near my home, I submitted a load of portals last week (been playing over a year, only just got round to it) so I tend to play at lunchtimes if the weather is nice as there are about 10 I can get around in an hour.

Someone knocked down my guardian portal at 139 days a couple of months ago, I was cross!

I bet you think comics are for kids too. People are clearly enjoying this and predictably one of tp's finest comes in and insults.
 
As it happens yes ... if you like running around playing make believe that's your perogative , just as its my perogative to think it's a bit silly
 
No more silly than photography really. You should live and let live and allow people to talk about hobbies without throwing out dickish insults.
 
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and as it happens, BSM's opinion differs from yours (as does mine). Live and let live.

And just how is photography as silly as playing make believe?

Not cool mate, has Pete upset you in a past life or something? He's entitled to his opinion just because it's not the same as yours doesn't make it dickish. Personally I love a bit of make believe it's just the running about bit that's the problem
 
I'm playing it - on the side of the resistance :)

gets me out and about a bit more and adds a bit of fun and plenty new places to photograph
 
So, last night I went to a pizza restaurant with about a dozen other people. Had a nice pizza and spent most of the time tapping away at my phone. Everyone else did much the same. I'm sure there were people who were watching us and wondering why we were all focused on our telephones more frequently than on our companions. Perhaps they even went onto internet forums on their phones to write about how people were using their phones while they were out ;)

There were five portals in range of the restaurant (depending on drift) and we upgraded them all to level 8 with multihacks and heat sinks, so each left with a couple of hundred L8 bursters and resonators each.

We didn't get asked if it was a "mobile phone club" this time, at least :p
