Heya!
I have chosen to write about hellingly hospital for my architecture dissertation
and wanted to know if any one has any information on patients, the architect
George Thomas Hine, staff, visitors or about the architecture?
I will be researching the institutions derelict form, its memories, stories and
even myths to try and find out whether it was an actual successful build?
Did it cured patients or worsen their illness? I can recognise that some of the
confine spaces would drive anyone to a mental state, but thats my opinion.
I find it interesting that staff were resistances. How could they cope working
and living on site?
If anyone has any photographs from back in the day it would be really
intriguing to visualise!
