I might have the opportunity to shoot an indoor football tournament in the summer. I've struggled in the past with indoor shots with only the built in flash on my Canon 450 to help.

Hopefully it will be in a huge venue with lots of light but if not, any tips or advice are appreciated. Not just on the lightning, but the whole tournament.

It'll be 5 or 6 aside. Possibly 7. Played on a basketball size pitch.

The game is actually futsal or futbol de salao, if you know either of them. The players will be under 14's

You will be wasting your time with flash. You will need a fast lens and a quick eye :) What sort of venue is it. I have shot futsal at a proper futsal venue in Birmingham and also smaller scale in school halls...

Not sure of the venue yet. It was only mentioned tonight as a possibility for some photos for their new website as the team are launching as a new name.

They do have a tournament in Birmingham next month though.

There is a great futsal arena in birmingham..its very bright inside.. no need for flash.. have you got a f2.8 lens ?

It's at the international futsal arena. So I guess it's the same pace.

I'm very much a beginner so I don't have the best equipment. A Canon 450 with a 18-55mm lenses, a 85-300mm lens which I think is 4-5.4f and a 1.8 50mm prime

Yes thats the very place.. Wow just looked up mine.. it was 2010 when I was there.. don't think it had been open that long.. You will struggle indoors wiht that sort of equipment I am afraid...Mine where taken with a canon 1dmkIV at iso 3200 and a 320 shutter at f2.8 and all using a 85m lens..... thats what you need to achive.. Thus with your iso capabilities your other lens will not hack it.. your 50m prime will be the one to use.. only slighlty shorter than the one I used..

heres mine.. like I say.. 3 yrs old now :)
