Anyone else noticed an increase in attacks from Russia to their connections? I've had 3 over the last 2 days whereby brute-force attacks have been noted, and a ridiculous amount of port-scans. This is on my home network...

It didn't used to be so frequent, for me anyway

Nothing more than usual.... :(

This is quite entertaining, if not, somewhat disconcerting .... Live Cyber attacks

Strange you mention that, just had a look at my sons site that i manage which is hosted at TSO Host, cannot access it anywhere, it is a wordpress website updated regularly also using a betterwp security. Cannot access admin panle, or the tso client area and the gridhos cloud control area. Odd, error meesage is showing NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID even though it is a https site.
I'm assuming the error is at tsohost's end, support dosn't want to chat on their webpage.

I've never been convinced that norse map is 'real'!

Just before Christmas I had ~60 accounts attempt to sign up to a forum I administrate all with Russian IPs. More generally however, brute force attempts on my multiple VPS and home internet connections seem fairly evenly distributed between Russia, China, US, South America and other countries. The geolocation of the IPs is fairly meaningless anway as I could get a russian hosted VPS with multiple IP addresses for very little.

Me neither - but it's entertaining and scares the pants off people if you're presenting Cyber Security options!

Remember kids, IPs can be spoofed so locations may not always be as they seem.

I'm also seeing a lot of corporate firewall geolocation data on malicious traffic coming out of Netherlands, but what's generally the default server location for a lot of VPNs? You guessed it, the Netherlands.

Either way, the source has been blocked, be it spoofed or otherwise , still keeping an eye-out!
