In lightroom

Is there a way of deleting all the images flagged as rejected in one fell swoop? Either from a directory or the HDD?

Yep:

Make sure they are flagged as rejected
Select filter>view rejected only
Go to Library module, press G (grid mode)
Ctrl-A (select all)
Delete>Delete from Disc

How's that

Alternatively...

<CTRL> Backspace!

(Or go to the drop down menus at the top, select 'Photo' then from the drop down menu 'Delete Rejected Photos'.)

Then decide whether to delete just from library or from the disc aswell.
