Importing raw files to Lightroom

I am trying to import some Canon 7D raw files into Lightroom 5 and having trouble. Most of the files will import from the CF card, but about a dozen will not. I have tried copying the files to a SD card, but still LR will not import them. Am using an iMac with the latest updates.
Any ideas?

Have you tired dragging them into a folder on desktop first? It sounds like there might be a problem with those images, they are not "locked" or anything by the camera?

I have sorted it now. it was a 16GB card, all the images except around a dozen that would not import.
I eventually opened the card on the desktop, put an sd card on the desktop and copied them over.
It's weird.
