Importing photos to LR5

Just come back from Scotland and I'm wanting to import all my photos into Lightoom 5.

The only problem I'm having is that if I create a new folder (Sept 2014) in it automatically creates sub-folders for each day the photo was taken on.

I want to import all the photos in to the Sept 2014 folder.

Is there a way round this?

When you are importing, to the right of the screen, click on destination and ensure "into subfolder" is not checked.

Yep, just in the destination, click the "by date" and change it to "One folder"

Why not just copy all the images from the card/camera to the folder using windows, then import to Lightroom from there?

This is what I do now - works well, I let LR make a new folder for the LR files in the same folder as the original RAW files....keep everything in one place - them back up to another drive
